Recently, I attended one of my favorite fitness events of the year, NorCal Fitness Summit.

If you have not been to NCFS or are unfamiliar with this event, I highly suggest that you check it out.

The owner, Khaled Elmasri, does an incredible job of not only bringing in some of the top minds in the health and wellness space, but also creating a very intimate and “real” environment where you can truly dive into the content that is being presented and engage with the presenters to learn and grow on an even higher level.

This year’s event was no different. NorCal was jam-packed with some of the biggest names in the industry, including the likes of Pat Rigsby, Jon Goodman, AJ Roberts, Anthony TrucksJohn Spencer Ellis, and more!

Off Day Trainer was a proud sponsor of the event, and I was able to catch just about every presentation. A few who stood out most to me were:

Dr. John Rusin: John has become a good friend and is one of the most respected names in the industry. At NorCal, John over-delivered on a topic that you wouldn’t normally hear him present. If you know John, you know that he is as sharp as they get when it comes to human movement and programming for your clients. However, this particular presentation was on “Building Authentic Career Capital to Streamline Your Specialty Niche.”

Over the years, John has managed to develop a list of followers who are raving fans of him and his products.

John shared how he has been able to create such a following through content marketing and really just connecting with his people on a regular basis, constantly providing VALUE in every way possible. As a result, John has managed to create multiple revenue streams for his business model, and it was awesome to see others light up with ideas on how they too could create career capital for their businesses.

Scott Rawcliffe: Scott is an expert on Facebook marketing, and he shared some incredible insight on how to leverage this platform to grow your audience and better connect with your followers to convert them into paying customers.

Vito La Fata: When it comes to generating revenue outside of a brick and mortar business, few are as experience and well-versed as Mr. Vito La Fata.

Vito shared his story of how he was able to take his pain points and failures as a gym owner and learn from them to create an uber-successful online business model.

Vito shared many knowledge bombs, but what I enjoyed most were the simple action steps he provided to ensure his listeners were able cash in on some of the things that he was teaching.

Lastly, Joe Arko: I had not met Joe until this event, but was well aware of his work, so this is one of the presentations that I was looking forward to most. Joe did not disappoint.

Joe’s presentation on, “Fat Loss Secrets Used by Competitors and Top Athletes” was not only educational but it also debunked multiple myths in the industry that so many of us fit pros are lead to believe.

Again, the environment that Khaled has created really makes it easy to listen to these guys for hours and really understand the steps required to put some of this knowledge into action.

One of the ways he is able to do this is by keeping the list of attendees to a minimum. With just around 200 fit pros in attendance each year, NorCal Fitness Summit has become a staple for those who have experienced it.

However, if you are unable to make the 200 person cut, you’re not completely out of luck! Khaled has partnered with Dennis Dumas and Sean Phillips of Virtual.fit to offer a Live Stream of the event and ALL of the presentations that go down during this incredible weekend.

I always leave these events refreshed and ready to take on the world! I loved the 3-hour trek back home to San Luis Obispo as I was forced to really absorb a lot of the information that I learned as well as the organize action steps that were required of me in order for me to truly capitalize on what I learned and the relationships I made.

Heck, I was able to connect with some of the best in the biz and I am most looking forward to how these relationships will evolve to truly impact peoples lives. My mission and our company’s mission is to impact the greatest number of people that we possibly can. We want to inspire the world and improve the quality of life through health and fitness.

I’m suddenly reminded of a quote that a friend once told me, which I’m sure he stole from somebody else. Ha!

“The trouble with a rat race is that even if you win, you are still a rat. So always run with lions. Even if you are defeated… you are still a lion.” – Unknown
