Motivation Fuels Transformation

I believe in the power of motivational quotes. Words can help fuel and maintain motivation.

As a high school senior, I weighed around 275lbs. The next few years, I attended the gym on my college campus on an irregular basis and my weight yo-yoed. At one point I had dropped down to 225lbs, but during my final year of college I was weighing 295 lbs. I was happy but suffered from lack of confidence. I knew I could be happier if I felt better and took better care of my health and fitness.

The change to a 9-5 schedule after a chaotic college schedule was a good start. I got a gym membership and started training for a 5k. My workouts became my top priority. My work and social life had to follow my workout routine. I started eating a salad for lunch every day at work. I was truly motivated and began losing 5lbs a month!

A friend challenged me to run a half marathon. I signed up and was immediately scared, yet motivated to succeed. I began to work out twice a day; once at lunch time and then again after work.

My progress was visible, and it helped fuel my motivation even more. My body was getting healthier and stronger, and my mind was focused. I craved motivation like it was a drug. Late at night, I would scour the Internet to find quotes that spoke to me and reinforced my goal.

Now, I feel fit and strong after losing over 100lbs.

Weight loss takes 24/7 commitment. It is about the daily grind and finding new ways to keep the desire alive.
